Established in 1992, we have grown to become Vivid Floral Design… After being inspired by attending the local flower club with her Mum from the age of 9, Amanda went on to study at The Welsh College of Horticulture, which included an amazing placement in Jersey. On completing college Amanda’s parents helped her start up her business in an outbuilding on their farm and that is where Farmhouse Flowers was born, specialising in wedding and funeral flowers … In 2004 after a trip to a trade show Amanda was inspired to expand and open a shop to be able to provide flowers for all occasions and corporate clients, this resulted in the purchase of Greens N Things in Gresford, where business bloomed and continued to expand, it was in 2013 that we re-branded to Vivid Floral Design ready for the next stage as we had outgrown our premises… In 2014 after a year-long renovation we re-located just 2 miles away to 112 Chester Rd, Acton, Wrexham, to much larger premises and continued to grow. Hi, I’m Helen. My love of flowers began long before I started as a florist 28 years ago as an apprentice in a flower shop in Liverpool. I worked hard and ended up owning a florist’s in Leigh, Lancashire and also taught floristry at St. Helen’s College. I moved onto Marks and Spencer’s head office in London training their staff at customer service but ultimately my passion for floristry was too strong. I worked at a flower shop in Sandbach part-time for 10 years but always wanted to run my own florist and do things my way again. So with a little saving and fantastic support from husband Andrew, Flowers on the Cobbles was born! Flowers on the Cobbles is about a team of fabulous people, all passionate about beautiful flowers. Jan, a former primary school teacher, decided on a career change but uses the same principles from her teaching as she does with her flowers. Helen number 2, has worked in a large florist in London for several years and is a fabulous asset to have around. And then there’s Emma! The newest member of our team, who started with us doing work experience whilst studying floristry at Reaseheath College. She was so good, she became a permanent team member! I feel so blessed to have such an amazing team of like-minded people around me every day! We’ve been humbled by the feedback from local people who have been so supportive of the shop. We are building quite a pile of “thank you” notes from happy customers which are a testament to the skill and quality of our work. Owned and operated by Florist Sophie who has worked as a florist for 18 years and holds the accredited ICSF floristry qualification. We are a contemporary, creative florist shop. Every design we create is bespoke and unique just like our customers, we pride ourselves on creating beautiful and creative designs with what’s best available form our wholesalers on the day your order is due to be delivered. Our shop is stocked daily with fresh flowers and plants, we always have something a little different to offer. We strive to give the best customer service possible! From your first contact with us to the creating and delivery of your design/event we will take upmost care to ensure your expectations are met. We create beautiful handtied designs wrapped in brown Kraft paper, tissue and tied with raffia ( we try to keep our designs as natural as possible without any unnecessary plastic – we even use old rose stems to attach gift cads to our designs). As well as handtied designs we also offer floral hat boxes which are created into bio degradable foam inside a Brown Kraft hat box which is hand stamped with our botanical logo. We create these in a more modern style compared to the traditional style hatbox and we also incorporate a few dried flowers to create a mix of textures. As well as gift flowers we also offer a wide range of floral tributes which we personally deliver to the local funeral directors within our area. All of our funeral designs are created bespoke to your requirements, we are here to advise and assist with choosing the perfect tribute.
